Competition Process


The competition will be based upon a 250 word abstract submitted with the application, a poster and a one minute presentation outlining the key points of the work.


By Friday 9th June 2017

Applicants should complete the online application form.

By Friday 30th June 2017

Entrants are requested to submit a single static PowerPoint slide along with the final abstract. Animations are not permitted.  A web portal link will be emailed out to successful applicants for submission.

Note: this slide is NOT a PowerPoint copy of your poster. This is the slide that will be screened behind you when you deliver your 1 minute presentation.

The Resolution of your PowerPoint slide should be set to 1920x1200 or 1440x900 as a 16:10 aspect ratio is required. Instructions on how to do this can be found at Microsoft Office Powerpoint Help

On Tuesday 25th July 2017

Posters are to be A0 size in portrait format. These should be brought by the student on the morning of the competition (25 July 2017). An example template may be downloaded by clicking here

For printing information, contact Green Print on campus. Please ensure you allow sufficient printing time to ensure your poster is ready.

The 1 minute presentation will take place on 25 July 2017 at Leighton Hall in the Scientia Building.
