Postgraduate Research Competition


The annual Postgraduate Research Competition recognises outstanding research by postgraduate research students in Science.

The 2018 competition will take place on Wednesday 1 August 2018 in the John Niland Scientia Building.


3 x $5,000 prizes, for the best three overall entrants.

3 x $3,000 prizes, for the next best placed three entrants. 

Prize monies will be awarded to students to support their travel expenses to international conferences or research visits.

Winners of this Postgraduate Research Competition will be required to represent the Science Faculty at the UNSW Three Minute Thesis Competition hosted by the Graduate Research School.

Please note that this year there has been a change to the eligibility criteria. MPhil and MRes candidates are eligible to enter the Faculty heats and may proceed to the Interfaculty final, however, they will not be allowed to progress to the Trans-Tasman Final.
