L&T@UNSW supports UNSW academics' professional development by providing a range of courses, workshops and academic programs.
Programs available to UNSW Science staff
The Foundations of University Learning and Teaching (FULT) program is a 5-day face-to-face interactive workshop with a compulsory follow-up activity for UNSW academics who wish to develop their practice by exploring a range of perspectives, ideas and theories of learning and teaching in the higher education context. All UNSW staff with a current teaching role are eligible to attend at no cost.
Graduate Certificate (University Learning and Teaching)
The Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching GC(ULT) focuses on the development of teaching capability in Higher Education (HE). The program is designed to help both new and experienced University teachers develop a scholarly approach to teaching. The program draws ideas from practice as well as educational theory. It is designed to meet the needs of busy teachers from diverse teaching settings.
Connections is a series of seminars facilitated by the Learning and Teaching Unit (LTU) to explore different aspects of learning and teaching. The seminars are open to all staff and provide a forum to share ideas and get feedback on practice and research. All the sessions include Q&A and discussion time, so please come along prepared to share your experiences.
