2010 Faculty of Science Staff Excellence Awards

The UNSW Faculty of Science has celebrated the outstanding contributions from its staff during 2010.

At a function held at the UNSW Roundhouse on 15 December 2010, the Dean, Professor Merlin Crossley, thanked staff for their hard work and made special mention of the recipients of Science Staff Excellence Awards.

Ms Anita McGregor, School of Psychology, who was presented with the Award for Professional Staff, for her outstanding contribution to the Master of Psychology (Forensic) Program.

Dr Dale Larden, School of Optometry, who was presented with the Award for Technical Staff, for his outstanding contribution to Teaching and Research Support.

Mr Jonathan Solomon, Mr John Bolzan, Mr Marty Sebastian, Mr Shanta Jayawardana, School of Psychology Technical Support Unit, who were presented with the Team Award for Technical Staff, for their excellence in IT and Workshop support in the School.

Dr Ben Newell, School of Psychology, who was presented with an Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Ms Michelle Dunbar, School of Mathematics and Statistics, who was presented with an Award for Excellence in Sessional Teaching.

Dr Jessica Grisham, School of Psychology, who was presented with the Award for Excellence in Research.

Associate Professor Gavan McNally, School of Psychology, who was presented with an Award for Excellence in Research and Teaching.

Three awards were presented to Faculty of Science staff who scored very highly on their CATEI scores:

Associate Professor Andrew Brown, School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, who was presented with an Award for Excellence in Teaching in Semester 2, 2009.

Dr Suhelen Egan, School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, who was presented with an Award for Excellence in Teaching in Semester 1, 2010.

Associate Professor Sammy Chan, School of Materials Science and Engineering, who was presented with an Award for Excellence in Teaching in Semester 1, 2010.
