The Nanomaterials major is a specialty major only available to students undertaking our Bachelor of Nanotechnology.

The Nanomaterials major is a broad, interdisciplinary major focusing on the nature and behaviour of materials. It spans molecular biology, analytical chemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry, materials science and engineering, physics and quantum physics.

Elective options are vast, ranging from diffusion, kinetics, chemical processes, experimental physics, photonics and laser spectroscopy.

The Nanotechnology degree, and Nanomaterials major, includes a research project undertaken in Stage 4 of the degree. A range of interdisciplinary projects are offered by contributing schools - in subjects spanning Chemistry, Physics, Material Science and Biochemistry - enabling students to carry out experimental investigations in their chosen area of nanotechnology.
