Students in large lecture classes often indicate that they lack a sense of community within their universities. The creation of groups that collaborate on exams is one way to address this concern. Prof. C. Renee James and Assoc. Prof. Scott Miller will discuss results of a two-year study to gauge the impact of collaborative two-stage exams on student learning and attitudes, while modeling the two-stage collaborative exam experience for participants.
