Help us break the Guinness World Record!
We need you to come and help us break a World Record and a stereotype at (almost) the same time.
To break the World Record we need everyone to wear a lab coat, lab glasses and hold a piece of lab equipment. Being a Science Faculty, we know this is not what most scientists look like. Science is as varied and as diverse as the scientists who work in Science. You are just as likely to find one of our scientists wearing a pilot’s uniform, a wetsuit, scrubs, gear suitable for an Antarctic expedition, or just plain regular clothes as they conduct their work in their chosen field of Science.
- If you are scientist, please come dressed in what you would wear while doing your Science.
- If you are not a scientist, come dressed in what you believe a scientist looks like.
We’ll equip you with what we need to break the Guinness World Record.
Then, we’ll take a second set of photos in the same location of everyone showing what real scientists look like. We want to show the world that a scientist in a lab coat doesn’t come close to representing what the real scientific community does or looks like.
Come help us make this happen, at least 1,000 participants are needed so please tell your friends, family and colleagues!
Following the record attempt, join UNSW Science in a festive atmosphere on the Village Green, complete with live band and 2 x complimentary beverages at The Greenhouse.
