Nation Science Week
National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology and thousands of individuals – from students, to scientists to chefs and musicians – get involved, taking part in more than 1000 science events across the nation.
Wear it Purple Day
Wear it Purple was founded in 2010 in response to global stories of real teenagers, real heartache and their very real responses. In 2010, several rainbow young people took their own lives following bullying and harassment restyling from the lack of acceptance of their sexuality or gender identity.\
The annual event highlights the diverse and vibrant community within UNSW Science and the need to continually create an inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment. Our students and staff can do their best work when they feel free and safe to focus on their science whilst also bringing their whole selves to work, study and research.
