Nick graduated with a law degree from Macquarie University in 1992. He was admitted to the rolls of the legal profession on 4 July 1993, and commenced his career at one of Sydney's leading law firms, Colin Biggers and Paisley.

Nick practiced extensively in the areas of commercial litigation, directors and officers liability, and corporate governance. He was involved in litigation relating to two of Australia's largest corporate collapses. Nick developed an expertise in the appellate courts, and was the lead partner on three landmark matters heard by the High Court of Australia.

He was appointed a Partner of Colin Biggers and Paisley in 1999. He was subsequently appointed to the role of Business Development Director and then to Managing Partner in 2005.  During his tenure as Managing Partner, Nick oversaw the implementation of branding initiatives, a women's leadership forum, and an internal professional development program.

Nick was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer, Australian Water Pty Limited in February 2007.  Australian Water is a company within the Australian Water Holdings Pty Ltd Group (AWH).  He has been a director of AWH since November 2005.  AWH is a company that was formed in 1989 to deliver water infrastructure in the Rouse Hill Development Area.  It delivered the first residential dual reticulation (recycled water) system in Australia.

In 2008, Nick was appointed to the position of CEO of AWH. In his role, Nick is focussed on developing innovative solutions to the economic and environmental issues surrounding water and its related infrastructure.

In February 2008, he was appointed as Chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sydney.  This institution plays a pivotal role inthe fostering of business relationships between Italy and Australia. Of the 74 worldwide Italian Chambers of Commerce - the Sydney chapter is ranked number one.

Nick is also a Board Director of the European Australian Business Council and a member of the University of New South Wales Faculty of Science Advisory Council.
