Andrew's career in health care management spans more than 25 years, through leadership roles for the professions of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and most recently (and currently) optometry.

In his role as Executive Director of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (NSW) he was instrumental in establishing a solid financial base for the Association and was closely involved in the development of a wide range of professional publications, including the Ethical Guidelines and Standards document for the profession.

Since taking up a similar role with the Optometrists Association Australia (NSW/ACT) in September 1995, Andrew has authored a number of papers for the profession, including

  • Starting Your Own Optometric Practice (1998, 2003)
  • Optometrists Guide to Employment (1999, 2004, 2009)
  • OAASys Patient Management Software (2002, 2008)
  • Salary Packaging Guide for Optometrists (2003, 2009)
  • The Locum Tenens Guide (2003, 2009)

Additionally, he has represented the Association on a number of key external bodies and forums:

  • NSW Council of Professions (1992-1996, Australian Physiotherapy Association)
  • NSW Health Department Inquiry into Optometric Practice Reform 1997-2000
  • Chairman, Vision 2020 Australia Communications Committee, 2001-2006

Andrew has also been active in community affairs, through his involvement in:

  • Chairman, Drummoyne Community Centre (1991-92)
  • President, All Hallows Parents & Friends Association (1995-96)
  • President, Domremy College Parents & Friends Association (2001-2006)
  • Chairman & Founder, All Hallows After School Care Service Inc (2000-2002)
  • Board member, Sydney Archdiocesan Catholic Schools Board (2003-2006)
  • President, Sydney Federation of Catholic School Parents (2007-present)

Academically, Andrew holds a Bachelor of Business and MBA, both from the University of Technology, Sydney.
