Supervision & teachingThroughout his academic career at the University of New South Wales, Roger Read has supervised 11 Honours, 3 MChem, 4 MSc and 17 PhD students, in addition to numerous summer scholars, Research Assistants and several postdoctoral researchers, particularly Dr Staffan Busato, a Swiss National Science Foundation Fellow, Dr Iris Aiglstorfer, a Feodor Lynen Research Fellow, and Drs P. Manohari Abeysinghe and Yangen Huang, ARC sponsored postdoctoral assistants. He has also hosted seven academic visitors from Australia and regional countries for periods of 1-3 months. He has maintained a research group of approximately 5 or 6 persons, including Honours and postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows and research assistants. Currently his research group comprises one PhD student and one Practicum research student, with one new MSc student and possibly one new Practicum student due to start in Session 1 2008. |
