If you love science but aren't sure which area to focus on, our single degrees are flexible so you can explore your passion for science through a number of specialisations. You don’t have to decide on your major until second year.

 

 Bachelor of Science

The Bachelor of Science degree gives you the widest range of options for study in more than 20 fields of science.

 

 Bachelor of Science and Business

The Bachelor of Science and Business  allows you to follow your passion for science and at the same time gain vitally important business knowledge to expand your career options.

 

 Bachelor of Science (International)

The Bachelor of Science (International) offers flexibility and choice with more than 20 fields of study combined with a study exchange to an overseas partner institution.

 

 Advanced Science

The Advanced Science degree is designed to challenge talented students, providing an early window into the thinking and practice of research.

 

 Advanced Mathematics

The Advanced Mathematics degree is aimed at high achieving students who wish to specialise in mathematics as a basis for the increasing range of quantitative careers in areas such as finance, environmental modelling and research.
 

 

 

 Science / Actuarial Studies (NEW in 2014)

The dual Science/Actuarial Studies degree is ideal for students seeking to enter the actuarial profession to complement a program of study in natural or physical sciences or mathematics.

 

 Science / Arts (or Social Research & Policy)

This degree is ideal for students seeking a liberal education that accommodates an interest in both science and arts, such as science and languages, music, political science or other areas of interest.

 

 Advanced Science / Arts (or Social Research & Policy)

The dual Advanced Science/Arts degree is ideal for students seeking a liberal education that accommodates an interest in both science and arts, such as science and languages, music, political science or other areas of interest.

 

 Science / Commerce

This degree will appeal to students wanting a strong, focused and highly regarded business course to complement a program of study in natural or physical sciences or mathematics.

 

 Science / Economics

This degree will appeal to students wanting a strong, focused and highly regarded economics degree to complement a program of study in natural or physical sciences or mathematics.

 

 Advanced Science / Economics

The ideal degree for students wanting a strong, focused and highly regarded economics degree to complement an advanced program of study in natural or physical sciences or mathematics.

 

 Science / Education

This four-year dual degree requires the completion of a BSc with a major in science or mathematics, as well as a major sequence in education consisting of educational theory and teaching methods.

 

 Science / Engineering

This dual degree program will appeal to students wanting to combine a professionally accredited 4-year engineering program with their science or mathematical interests.

 

 Advanced Science / Engineering (NEW in 2014)*

This dual degree program will appeal to students wanting to combine a professionally accredited 5-year engineering program with their science or mathematical interests.

 

 Science / Laws

This degree combines a law degree with the large number of majors offered within the Bachelor of Science. This degree prepares students for careers in research, technology, science, mathematics and education, or areas of management or public policy which involve the use of science or mathematics.

 

 Advanced Science / Laws

This degree is designed to challenge students with an interest in critical thinking, research and innovation. The development of practical skills is taught alongside exposure to a culture of research and enquiry through early induction into the research ethos and access to research groups and facilities.

 

 Science / Music

This degree enables students to complete a major sequence from those available in Science while studying for a specialist music degree involving instrumental performance and/or composition.

 

 Advanced Science / Music

This degree enables students to complete a major sequence from those available in Advanced Science while studying for a specialist music degree involving instrumental performance and/or composition.

 

 Environmental Management / Arts (NEW in 2014)*

This degree is ideal for students seeking a liberal education that accommodates an interest in both environmental sciences and arts, such as science and languages, music, political science or other areas of interest.

 

 Science and Business / Laws (NEW in 2014)

This degree combines a law degree with the large number of majors offered within the Bachelor of Science and Business.  Materials Science / Biomedical Engineering

This five-year dual degree consists of a Bachelor of Materials Science and Engineering and a Master of Biomedical Engineering.

 

 Materials Science / Chemical Engineering

This five-year dual degree consists of a Bachelor of Materials Science and Engineering with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering.

 

 Materials Science / Commerce

This degree is for potential engineers who wish to learn the economic and social aspects of the engineering profession, and become skilled in technical management.

 

 Advanced Mathematics / Actuarial Studies

The dual Advanced Mathematics/Actuarial Studies degree is ideal for students seeking to enter the actuarial profession, and gain in-depth understanding of quantitative analysis as well as actuarial studies knowledge and skills.

 

 Advanced Mathematics / Arts

The dual Advanced Mathematics/Arts degree is ideal for students seeking a liberal education that accommodates an interest in either applied areas of mathematics and arts, such as science and languages, music, political science or other areas of interest.

 

 Advanced Mathemetics / Commerce

 Advanced Mathemetics / Engineering (NEW in 2014)*

 Advanced Mathematics / Laws

Bachelor of Aviation (Flying)

 Bachelor of Materials Science and Engineering

Materials Science and Engineering offers unlimited possibilities for innovation and development in areas such as environmentally friendly and economical metals, and biomedical materials.

 

 Bachelor of Medical Science

 Bachelor of Medicinal Chemistry

Medicinal Chemistry is an exciting, rapidly-expanding area within the broad discipline of chemistry involving the development of new pharmaceutical agents.

 

 Bachelor of Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology involves the science, application and engineering of nano-systems. UNSW is a pioneer of nanotechnology and this degree was one of the world’s first dedicated degrees.

Alternative Entry UNSW Degrees

 

 UNSW Preparation Program 17-20

The UNSW Preparation Program 17-20 is one of the alternative pathways for undergraduate study at UNSW for those under 21 years of age.

 

 University Preparation Program 21+

This is an enabling program for adults aged 21 and over who either do not possess formal qualifications or whose academic qualifications do not satisfy the minimum entry requirements for admission to university study.

 

Increase your Employability

 

 Diploma of Professional Practice

The Diploma of Professional Practice is a career-focused qualification, designed to give you an edge in the employment market. It’s studied concurrently with your degree, over 1 year.

 

 

International Applicants
