The following is just a small selection of some of the scholarships available to students. For a full list of scholarships and application forms visit the UNSW Scholarships website.

Industry Partnership Awards

A key initiative of the Faculty of Science and our industry partners is are Industry Partnership Awards, which reward our best and brightest students. Available to full-time undergraduate students, they are awarded on the basis of academic merit and performance in interviews. Recipients may receive between $2,500 and $5,000, as well as industrial training during summer breaks. The award demonstrates our strong links with industry, and the commitment of industry to develop the skills and potential of our students. It offers a mechanism for industry to access our top students, while providing recipients with a competitive edge.

Malcolm Chaikin Scholarship  |  B Commerce / B Science  |  Baulkham Hills High School

While seeking an academic scholarship I was immediately drawn to the Malcolm Chaikin Scholarship because of the many opportunities it provides to recipients. The financial assistance allows focus to shift from earning income to pay off textbooks and other university expenses to spending more time on both academic studies and participation in UNSW activities.
Having received this prestigious scholarship, I look forward to maintaining my academic performance in my chosen degree while contributing both to UNSW and the broader community.

Malcolm Chaikin (Graduate) | Bachelor of Science | Kinross Wolaroi, Orange

I grew up on a small property outside Orange in central NSW, and completed my school years at Kinross Wolaroi School, a local day and boarding school. At first, I was unsure which course I was going to undertake after my HSC. It wasn't until the end of my gap year that I finally decided on a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Ecology and Physical Geography at UNSW, since UNSW has such a great reputation for its science courses.

Searching on the UNSW Scholarships web site, I found and applied for the Malcolm Chaikin Scholarship - among others - at the last minute. The scholarship has provided great assistance throughout my studies by enabling me to support myself away from home. With the help of the scholarship, I have had more time to participate in a wide range of university activities outside my course. These have included a number of university sports and outdoor activities like bushwalking and diving.

The scholarship also assisted me during my 6 month International Exchange to Exeter University in the UK and during 5 months spent on a conservation project in South Africa. Without the assistance provided by the scholarship, I doubt that I would have been able to undertake such adventures - and still find adequate time for study!

I am extremely grateful to Malcolm Chaikin and the UNSW scholarships office for the help they have provided to me throughout my degree, and encourage potential science students to apply.
