UNSW Science invite you to join us for the Science Postgraduate Research Competition

An annual showcase of student research and an opportunity for students to gain skills as well as prizes.

The competition is open to all Science postgraduate researchers, and this year we have a record number of entrants taking part. There are 3 judging criteria – each entrant must submit an abstract, a poster (which is on display here at the competition), and present a 1-minute, 1-slide outline of their work. Entrants are grouped according to broad fields of study. Judging is undertaken by teams of UNSW experts together with leading figures in science communication.

Six prizes are awarded to the best entrants. There are 3 first place prizes, and 3 runner-up prizes, each with a significant monetary contribution. The 3 first-prize-winners are put forward as the Faculty’s nominees for the UNSW 3 Minute Thesis Competition. A People’s Choice Award is also selected by nomination from the audience during the event.
