To the many thousands of graduates who have taken a science degree at UNSW and have shared with us over more than 50 years of teaching and research, the Faculty of Science sincerely welcomes you all.

With so many changes in names and administration in over this long period, many of you will be more familiar with faculty names such as Applied Science, Biological and Behavioural Sciences, Science, Science and Technology and Life Sciences.

Regardless of when you studied here and under which umbrella, we welcome you to the Faculty of Science, as it became known after a reorganisation on 1 July 2001. We reclaimed the name of Faculty of Science to bring together all the disciplines that have grown from all the above areas and the many new ones that have arisen from scientific discoveries and emerging technologies.

We would very much like to hear from you: please tell us about your career since graduation, send us queries you may have about people you knew or about what we're up to these days. As you'll see from our web pages we're still busy and working hard at the satisfying business of research and teaching and building on the wonderful legacy of all those who have gone before us.

If you would like to find out more about what is happening in science at your university, or if you would like to establish a scholarship to help others go on and benefit from studying science please contact the Ms. Xanthe Chapman in the Faculty of Science on +61 2 9385 7919 or e-mail to x.chapman@unsw.edu.au.
