Sydney Girls High School Tour

On 13 September 2018, a Year 11 Engineering Studies class from Sydney Girls High visited the UNSW Centre for Sustainable Materials and Research Technology (SMaRT Centre) and took a tour of the e-waste microfactory. The girls were welcomed by Professor Veena Sahajwalla, Director of the SMaRT Centre and Founder of Science 50:50. Professor Sahajwalla spoke to the students over afternoon tea, about the value of a career in STEM and the opportunities in recycling and engineering. The students were also given talks and demonstrations from SMaRT Centre researchers and Material Science and Engineering students.
