In July UNSW Science and UNSW Women in Engineering hosted a three-day school holiday program for 100 high school girls interested in exploring careers in STEM.
Together we visited Google, Cochlear, Arcadis and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. We spoke to professional scientists and engineers, and discovered where they work and what they do. We also toured the UNSW Sydney Campus and undertook a range of workshops and expirements.
Participants created posters reflecting on their expierience of the program. Below are some examples of these posters.
Science 50:50 Blog Competition and Pathway Scholarship Program
Exploring STEM Careers participants were asked to create a blog describing where they saw themselves in 2030. We were blown away by the amazing entries! The authors of six blog posts were awarded a Pathway Scholarship to study math at high school and a STEM degree at an Australian university.
